Vintage meets modernity

The origins of the Metallica 1799 date back to the year 2000, when a 5/6 precision pendulum clock called “1799” was presented with a unique case and corresponding appearance. 25 years later, the innovative design from back then has been reinterpreted. In an edition of just 15 pieces, all the technical features that are “state of the art” today are integrated. The Erwin Sattler watch manufacturer has thus succeeded in creating a completely new model.

Behind the modern design of the dial with its cut-out and hand-finished pallet arbor bridge is a monthly precision movement with jewel and ball bearings and agate pallets. Of course, a temperature-compensated pendulum also included a barometric compensation. Wood in combination with stainless steel lends the case a unique charm, which is further underlined by the domed crystal glass. There is a glass in the top of the case that allows for external lighting.

When the case, which is fitted with a magnetic catch, is opened, the entire front part of the case is swiveled away from the back wall, making the case, which is also attached with magnets and contains all the necessary utensils, accessible. Fine curves instead of corners and edges fit perfectly and harmoniously into current living concepts. A simple, modern but also playful precision pendulum clock with the task of displaying the time as precisely as possible!
